The Ramblas proved Aventon could build a real mid-drive. The Current is them going after the premium bikes directly: a 110 Nm motor (120 in Boost), an 800 Wh battery and 150 / 140 mm of travel, for less than a lot of brands charge for an alloy frame with a smaller motor.

It's not light at about 56 lb, and Aventon's motor doesn't have the years of track record that Bosch or Shimano do. But the early reviews say it rides like a normal trail bike, not a budget experiment.

If you liked the idea of the Ramblas but want rear suspension, this is the obvious next step.

What I like
  • More torque than Bosch CX
  • Big removable 800 Wh battery
  • Strong price for the spec
What I don't
  • New motor with no long-term record
  • Heavy
  • Direct-to-consumer only

Long-term test pending. Aventon, if you'd like this one ridden and reviewed in full, let's talk.
