Scott hides the rear shock inside the frame on the Patron, and the result is one of the cleanest-looking bikes in the sport. It's a love-it-or-hate-it design move, and I'm firmly on the love-it side.

The ST version gets 170 mm up front and Bosch's CX Race motor, which is the punchiest Bosch you can buy. It's a burly, stable bike that's happiest on big, long days.

It's heavy, and the integrated shock means servicing takes a bit more patience. But nobody makes a bike that looks this tidy.

What I like
  • Gorgeous, clean design
  • CX Race power
  • Big range with extender option
What I don't
  • Heavy
  • Integrated shock is fiddlier to service

Long-term test pending. Scott, if you'd like this one ridden and reviewed in full, let's talk.
